Does it? Does it annoy you that much. Let's say that we take your stupid-ass advice and turn the sound down and then we go to the youtube video we want to see and at the same time we can't hear the clicking sound while we're getting there...we can't hear the youtube video we've just selected...'cause there's no sound 'cause we followed some moron's advice. Oh so we should just turn the sound up again and then turn it down again while we navigate out? That's great advice inbred! Here's some advice for you. Go to the hardware store, spend a few bucks on WD40 and use it to help pull your head out of your ass ok?

Running XP Pro SP3, I noticed a constant clicking sound coming from the speakers. Found that the sound generated was the “windows start navigation” sound click. Went to Sound and Audio properties to remove the sound for this particular event. Temporary fix. (Thanks for showing how to disable the click sound.)

However, I still after the root cause. Anyone knows whats causing this? Just concerned there are conflicts somewhere in the config, which may crop up later.

I prefer to have a sound to give feedback that you did actually click on something.
