Nintendo kicked some serious butt in March with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where more than 200,000 copies of the Wii game sold during the month of March. Um, this means this one title represented 10 percent of all Canadian video game sales in March, 2008.

Another way to look at it: 25 percent of Canadian Wii owners purchased this game in March. Wow.

Here’s the complete Top 10 list:

1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl – Nintendo – for Nintendo Wii

2. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 – Ubisoft – for Xbox 360

3. Play – Nintendo – for Nintendo Wii

4. Army of Two – Electronic Arts – for Xbox 360

5. Rock Band – MTV Games/Electronic Arts – for Xbox 360

6. Rock Band – MTV Games/Electronic Arts – for PlayStation 2

7. God of War: Chains of Olympus – Sony – for PlayStation Portable

8. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare – Activision – for Xbox 360

9. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock – Activision – for Xbox 360

10. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock – Activision – for Nintendo Wii

Big surprise…nothing from the PS3 in the top 10. Wonder how Sony will spin that? "Blu-ray sales were up!" What a slow start for the PS3 in Canada…everyone I know who has one uses it mostly to play movies and only for the occasional game. Most "gamers" opt for the 360 which is clearly shown month after month. The Wii is impressive with its strong sales too.
