Do you mean, the server is down again? Sounds like a place I used to work. If the computer technicians weren't doing a "data dump," the server was down; therefore, nobody could get any work done.

From a physics standpoint, citing the laws of matter and energy conservation: 'Matter cannot be created nor destroyed, though it can be rearranged. Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, though it may change forms.'

So technically speaking, you can't create anything from nothing; you need something to create something. Of course, this is purely phsyical.

If you're talking philisophically; ideas and dreams and inventions and so forth; it certainly seems like you can create something from nothing... Though if you carefully consider it, any idea that pops into your head technically is nothing more than a tiny burst of electrical energy flashing across neurons... which, adhering to the aformenioned laws, came from something.

If it can be described it is something.
Nothing is the absence of something.
Silence is the absence of noise and if you remove the air from the bottle you would have a vacuum.
As far as can anything come from nothing goes, I think it can as long as it is something you think up (like an idea) and has no physical make up. You can't describe it because it hasn't been conceived yet.
OK now I'm getting confused...thats something hehe.

Nothing can come from nothing. But we can not form an idea of what nothing is. Take the air out of an empty bottle. There is still 'space' in that bottle. We can not take that space away. Yet space is something. Space was created. We can not imagine, there being no space. Are space and silence synonymes ?

The question I have been trying to get answered is this, CAN ANYTHING COME FROM NOTHING?. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO ME.
