Joox: Can this be legal?

By Comments (7)

One of my favourite geeky pastimes is surfing the web, looking for new services, downloadable apps and media files. Only one thing popped into my head after I stumbled upon Joox: I hit the freakin’ motherload.

OK, in all fairness, my second thought was: Is this legal?

So long as you have the free DivX web plug-in installed, Joox lets you click on a name of a movie along the right-hand side of the screen – such as Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Remember the Titans, Wrong Turn 2 and Bourne Ultimatum – and within seconds the movie begins playing in a large window (or you can choose to watch full screen). The video and audio quality is phenomenal for most of the flicks I began watching.

The site also has TV shows, stand-up comedy, documentaries and music videos.
