Free your MP3s with JukeFly
I stumbled this interesting service the other day and I’m wondering if any Sync readers have tried this out yet. JukeFly is a free music streaming service that lets you listen to your digital music collection on any Internet-connected computer.
I stumbled this interesting service the other day and I’m wondering if any Sync readers have tried this out yet. JukeFly is a free music streaming service that lets you listen to your digital music collection on any Internet-connected computer.
It works as follows:
Windows users first download a small (1.5MB) client, you indicate where your music collection is on your hard drive (e.g. My Music) and it turns your PC into a streaming music server.
So long as you leave your computer on and connected to the Internet, you can go to a friend’s house, the office or to a Paris café with a laptop, and you’ll be able to listen to all your songs at no cost.
JukeFly supports MP3s, unlocked AAC files (therefore purchased iTunes tracks won’t work) and Ogg Vorbis.
Let me know how JukeFly works but the concept is music to our ears.

This sounds great — anyone try it yet?! I'm on a Mac!
i have not try it but i would like to try it
That sounds cool, but there's an even better version. Called Winamp Remote, it works on any computer with winamp installed. The procedure is quite similar: specify the location of your music, download a small client. But there are a few improvements:
1) Your computer does not have to even be on! It creates a personal website where you can, after a brief buffering, listen to any music in the specified folder.
2) You can watch videos! They may take more time to load, and maybe some tinkering with the configurations, but it will work.
3) You can use Winamp Remote on practically any device with a screen and internet access. Blackberries, cell phones, even through the Nintendo Wii's Internet Channel!
It's great for when you want to listen to your music away from home!
hey
theres a program called ORB
which has a nice clean interface and lets u acces any type of file on your computer its free too
but the program has to be running and installed on your computer at the time
What prevents someone entering your computer, if you livestream from your personal computer?
People are too small to fit inside of computers.
