Greeting fellow communicators, whats all the fuss? It doesnt matter weather its a corvette, hyabusa bike, seedoo, dell, etc. In this modern day of high tech devices, we are going to have failure. Thats the price we pay for having the latest and greatest. A7 a hobby, Ive worked on & used moto since the 70s. 1st hand held vhf&uhf phone was 1977. Went to 800mghz cell 2 weeks after system was activated 1984. Ive had apprx 25 phones, multiple brands, majority being moto. Fact is a razr isnt a combat model. But! My V3 is 27 months old. Other than an occasional reboot, it has been flawess. I do baby my mobile devices, but just take a look @ what my razr, palm, gps~2 way radio go thru. Mountain biking. 65~8o mile jet ski indurance rides on all type of water conditions. Yes, its well protected but u cant stop shock conditions on 3ft swells. Major ruff rides freestyle jet boating. Horseback, etc. How could i ever complain about moto? Whatever treky, techno device u choose 2 use i wish u the best. Beam me up scotty!

i have the first version of the razr, not the V3, but i have a hard plastic covering on mine, i've had it for almost two years. i've been counting, and i've dropped it 18 times and it's been through the wash, and it's perfectly fine! i can't speak for the V3 of course, but the regular razr is almost indestructable.

I agree with many a would be pundits on this panel, but Bruce takes my shorts off.

This is one phone, if you sneezed hard enough, you may break it, or render it useless. I love to hate this phone, already have gone through 3 of 'em. Bah ;(

After only 8 months or so my Razor won't hold a charge, now I'm lucky if the battery lasts 24 hours. The phone has been sent away and suppose to have been checked out thoroughly and it still doesn't work right. Of course I cannot exchange it for another phone unless I pay an fee of $80.00 plus a transfer fee of $25.00. Why should I have to pay..if I buy a car and it is a lemon the company relaces it at no charge to me, but a cell phone the company is charging me. That is a crock! And by the way, I DO NOT mistreat my phones!! This is the great service that Telus gives to its customers!!

I repair cell phones for a living. I can tell you that I have to agree with Brian in the comments above. The Razr is a marvel of a phone. It has exceptional sound quality, better than average reception and good features for a phone of its vintage. The problems occur when it comes into contact with water and not very much water either. I've only come accross a handful of Razr units that have failed without user abuse. From a technicians standpoint the razr becomes virtually unrepairable when it's liquid damaged, other phones like Samsung can be revived from total inadvertent submersion. So keep your RAZR dry, very dry and you'll get a good life out of it.

I used to work as CSR for T-Mobile...I dealt with every issue known to man aboot cell phones..I too used to have a Razor and thought it was a fantastic cell..I also dealt with people who became frustrated with the the same model having the screen blank out..dropped calls or tiny particles show up under the display.....all handsets will have glitches...with that much technology crammed in as small as place as possible, nothing is perfect.....I must also add that I have had a Sony Ericsson 810i and that cell kicks the ass of any other cell I have owned or had the pleasure to play with...other Sony products come like the 580 slider..awesome design..great features but it is known for having its little plastic buttons crap out..so...do your homework...open your mind to models not offered here in North America...as long as your going with a GSM handset (Telus in Canada works on outdated CDMA, while 85% of the world is GSM) you should be cool..peace

I disagree with many of you, and most of you fail to read properly. Just because there are more of them in use, does not mean that the percentage will be higher. If I have 10 razrs and 2 break it is the same as having 100 razrs and 20 breaking. Another thing to note is many people do not willingly abuse their cellphones (unless it's a Motorola because its already broken). It also states in the report that it is due to "normal use". I use to love Motorola, I was a huge advocate for them, and as a customer of 3 Motorola phones I simply will never buy one again. I treat and maintain all my electronic devices with great care but the Motorola phones simply are not built to last. The battery life is terrible, and the phones themselves seem to lack quality. I have since switched to Nokia and am pretty impressed with battery life, features and quality. As for my Motorola experience; Could you say that I am just unlucky? Not a chance.
