No monkeying around with Gorillapod

You might have noticed that little circular hole at the bottom of your compact camera. What’s it for, you ask? This is to attach a tripod to better stabilize (and elevate) your shot.

GorillapodYou might have noticed that little circular hole at the bottom of your compact camera. What’s it for, you ask?  This is to attach a tripod to better stabilize (and elevate) your shot.

An interesting take on tripods is Joby’s Gorillapod (about $30 for point-and-shoot version), which features three flexible legs with many joints that bend and rotate, ensuring you can attach your camera to virtually anything, including trees and rocks. It’s also ideal for taking timed group shots.

The Gorillapod weighs only 45 grams, and measures just 150 x 30 x 30 millimetres; it can handle cameras up to 275 grams. Two different SLR Gorillapod models are also available.
