And now for something completely different. Or stupid. Um, you decide. Whirlpool is now selling its Central Park refrigerator (model # GDSVVAXT; US $1,999) with docking stations for your portable iPod media player, tablet PC and digital photo frame.

Yes, just when you didn’t know where to charge up your favourite tech toys in the kitchen comes this 21st century appliance with the answer. Sigh.

Now you can charge up your iPod while spreading mayo on your sandwich.

This removable docking unit clips onto the top of the freezer door and connects to the fridge’s power. Each dock is sold separately: the iPod dock for US $149, the digital picture frame for US $249 and the tablet PC for US $799. See our CES gallery for more images of the fridge with the picture frame.

No word yet on whether this freaky fridge is coming to the Great White North – or if Canadians would even care enough to ask for one.

More info is available here.
