New LG laptop features ‘SideShow’ screen

Nothing new with today’s laptops, you say? We like playing around with the LG R200, which features a new Windows Vista-based technology called “SideShow.”

Lg_r200Nothing new with today’s laptops, you say? We like playing around with the LG R200, which features a new Windows Vista-based technology called "SideShow."

Fashion meets function with LG’s thin R200 (from $1899), an Intel Core 2 Duo-powered laptop with a unique 2.5-inch colour LCD "SideShow" screen on the cover, so you can quickly access key info you need – downloaded emails, notes or calendar appointments — without having to turn on the computer and wait for it boot up.

Many more applications for SideShow technology is available here.

Is this something you’d use?

Don’t knock it ’til you try it. And fingers are crossed other laptop manufacturers begin to implement this second LCD screen for added functionality.
