This underground but growing cottage industry is collectively referred to as Machinima ("muh-sheen-eh-mah"), where computer-generated environments are used as sets and digitally-placed cameras "shoot" the 3D characters who are brought to life with human voice-overs or subtitles.

Machinima.com is a hub for all things Machinima, which offers hundreds of free downloadable flicks — including the hit series, Red vs. Blue, made from the Halo games — as well as forums, articles and tools to help you become the next Spielberg, virtually speaking.
