Halo 3 ‘Midnight Madness’ in Toronto

Yesterday I had an inbox full of “I hate you!” emails from jealous friends because my Facebook profile boasted: “Marc is playing Halo 3.” ‘Tis true, yours truly spent three glorious hours playing Microsoft Game Studios’ upcoming sci-fi sequel, due out September 25 for the Xbox 360.

You, too, can get your hands on it before it comes out. Here’s the scoop for the Toronto-based "Midnight Madness" event.

This coming Monday, September 24, outside of the Best Buy store at Bay and Dundas in downtown Toronto, the Halo 3 launch party kicks off at 7 p.m. It includes multiplayer tournaments for hands-on time with the game and prizes such as Halo t-shirts and graphic novels.

Then, at 11 p.m., the game-play tent will close so gamers can join others in line alongside the building. The Best Buy doors will open at 12:01am, where you can buy Halo 3 ($69.99) on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Attendees of Microsoft’s "Midnight Madness" event under the age of 18 are asked to be accompanied by an adult.

Similar events will be held in Montreal and Vancouver, so be sure to check with Xbox.ca for details.
