How to change the font size in Internet Explorer
Question: Marc, I know this is so basic, but I don’t know where to turn: I sometimes have trouble seeing text when I’m on the Web. Is there a way to enlarge the font in Internet Explorer?

Answer: You bet, Judy. And remember what your old school teacher told you — there are no dumb questions — and this is especially true when it comes to something as confusing as technology.
Changing the text size within Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser is quite easy. Here’s what to do:
Open your browser and look at the top of the screen. If you’re running Internet Explorer 6, one of your tabs says View. Click this and there will be a handful of options now from the pull-down menu. One says Text Size. Click it. Here you can see there are five choices that range from smallest to largest. Click the desired setting and you’ll immediately notice the difference.
If you’re running Internet Explorer 7, the latest version, click Page in the top right corner and then click Text Size.
Also, if you want to see more of a website, you can view Internet Explorer full-screen. Do this by tapping the F11 key. If you want to change it back to regular size, tap the F11 key once again.
Here’s another tip – whatever program you’re in, such as Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, hold down the Control (CTRL) key and scroll up or down using your middle mouse wheel and you should also see the size of the text change before your eyes. Neat, huh?

In addition to the methods outlined by Marc, pressing Ctrl + will also do the text size increase for you.

Wow, that's neat info, especially about Ctrl + (or Control -)
Thanks!

The changing font size is helpful, but how is it that IE does not give us a numeric size to change font, i.e. 10 / 12 / 14 etc. or is there a way to do this.
Also, one will notice when the font is increased by the way given here, then an exciting scroll bar will appear on the bottom of the screen. In Opera, this is fixed from the menu bar, but how do we get rid of the scroll bar here in IE when the font size is increased.

Good morning,
Your assistance is right on to change the font size of the webpage one sees. However, how does one increase the font size of the web address viewed at the top of the web browser?
I have applied your suggestion but this only increases the size of the web pages not the address bloc that says http:/www etc……
Your assistance on this one will be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Follow-up to my original question. Just figured it out how to change the font size for the IP address for Windows Vista 64 bit. Here is the step by step procedures:
> Start
> Control Panel
> Personalization
> Left hand side of screen under tasks, click adjust font size DPI
> Select either Larger scale 120 DPI ( this is a better font size)
or click custom DPI and change IP font size to your eye preference.
Enjoy
