Soon you won’t have to swap quality for convenience when it comes to taking photos with your cell phone. Sony Ericsson has confirmed its 5-Megapixel handset will come to Canada this fall.
Today Sony Ericsson announced its newest Cyber-shot camera phone, the K850, will arrive on North American retail shelves this fall.
And it’s called a "camera phone" for a good reason: it’ll be the first phone in Canada with an integrated 5-Megapixel camera, which means you can print even an 8×10 and it’ll look great. Sony Ericsson currently has an industry-leading 3.2-Megapixel camera phone on the market.
While prices are still to be determined (and likely subsidized by Canadian cell carriers in exchange for a service commitment), the K850 offers auto-focus, a Xenon flash and a clever "BestPic" feature that snaps nine pictures in rapid succession to ensure you get a good photo, and then you can simply choose the best — and delete the rest.
Other features of this GSM/EDGE/HSDPA phone — which will ship in Velvet Blue or Luminous Green — include a 2.2-inch LCD screen, picure/video blogging tools (to upload multimedia right from the handset), FM radio and MP3 support, voice recorder, and more.

Bravo Denise: yes, I agree that parents or at least speaking as a Mother, do instinctively know why her babies are crying. If we began relying on gadgets to trust our decisions with our children at the baby stage, God help us when they hit the teens! Well like I said, I agreed with your comments. I started young, and never missed a beat: nurturing in a loving way comes naturally for a Mom. After raising four children, later on my own, I can tell you that a loving parent is better off to go with their own instincts and knowledge of their child than to listen to alot of the advice that is out there or any future gadgets that may arise. After all, these are precious lives that we are talking about! What if a sick baby cries differently? What if that parent continues to subdue it and the problem goes unnoticed and becomes a serious medical issue? (Just an afterthought)…Ok…I could go for the babysitter idea definately! But, as a daily aid to parenting, I fear it is not the way to go. Parents need to develop their relationship with their babies and this is just the natural process. If we dont learn to trust our instincts when they are young and develop that very special relationship with them, we and they, will certainly be in huge trouble when the increasingly difficult years arrive.
